BareCam

If you need the simplest camera application, look no more. This application will just display your camera without any fancy stuff.

If you have multiple cameras, you can switch between them using Space and you can decide you want to have it in one of the corners using numeric keyboard (0-9).

Useful when you just want to see your camera but are not interested in any fancy stuff. My favorite usage is USB inspection camera or using HDMI input dongle as a secondary screen.

To install the Linux version on the Debian-based system (e.g. Ubuntu), use these commands:

Terminal
wget -O- http://packages.medo64.com/keys/medo64.asc \
| sudo tee /etc/apt/trusted.gpg.d/medo64.asc
echo "deb http://packages.medo64.com/deb stable main" \
| sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/medo64.list
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install barecam
